You do
not always have to go to a technician if your laptop is not
charging. There are a few simple steps you can follow in order
to find the cause. Depending on the cause of the issue, you
can go about finding a solution. Here are a few pointers on
what you can do if your laptop fails to charge. First, you
need to know if this is caused due to a faulty power adapter
or a faulty battery.
You can
try the following:
1. Let
us suppose that your laptop has turned off due to drained
battery. Look for a spare power adapter, or borrow one. Make
sure that it is in good working condition. Connect it to your
laptop and check if your laptop is charging. If your laptop is
still not charging, then try re-seating the battery, because
there might be a possibility that the battery is loosely
seated. But before doing so, make sure that you remove the
power adapter connected to the laptop, press and hold the
power button of your laptop for 10 seconds. This is to drain
the laptop charge completely. Now, charge the laptop again. If
it is still not charging, then you can be sure that the
battery is faulty.
2.
Suppose your laptop works fine after using the spare power
adapter and the battery is able to retain charge, then it
could be possible that your power adapter is faulty. Again,
check for any loose connections in the power adapter. If it
still fails to charge your laptop, then you can be sure that
the power adapter is faulty. Depending on what part is faulty,
you can buy a replacement and get your laptop working again.
Before you buy a new part, check the specifications of the
faulty part and buy a new one with the same
specifications. |
